Wait...who's the baby?

The past few nights Jayden has been having tantrums at bedtime. Daddy starts his bedtime routine and all is well until it is time to lay down in bed. Jayden then makes excuses to get out of bed like he has to go potty again, or he wants to go give the family hugs and kisses again, etc. Once those things are complete he comes up with more excuses like he just doesn't want to sleep. We try and tell him that the rest of the family is going to sleep too. The moment his bedroom door is shut, the screaming starts.

In the past we have gone into Jayden's room several times to listen to his demands and try and reason with him; to no avail once the door is shut the screaming resumes and has lasted for two hours. The last couple of tantrums, we let him scream/cry himself to sleep. Last night we had a great night with no tantrums - then the morning came. He found something to cry about at 6am and after Daddy went in there and took his toy away, he ended up crying himself back to sleep.

Poor little guy, there are a lot of new things going on in his life right now that seem to be causing him stress. On top of the excitement of gaining a new baby brother, he is transitioning to the three year old room at school. We have tried to let him sleep in his big boy bed but again he has tantrums at bedtime and literally pops out of bed screaming the moment his bedroom door is shut. We are really hoping that this is just a phase and that in the next couple of weeks he will start adjusting to all of these changes. We feel bad for him and want him to get comfortable but it is very frustrating at the same time. We really don't need two babies in the house!
