This past Saturday, all of a sudden Zoe started dragging her back let. Then it got worse where she almost couldn't bend it to get underneath her. She went to the vet and they couldn't find anything physically wrong with her and suggested she go get x-rays and an MRI as it was probably something neurological.
Today was the day-long appointment at the vet hospital where the did a physical exam and were going to perform an MRI and possibly a spinal tap depending on the results. From the physical exam, the doctor couldn't see anything wrong either but thought it might either be a ruptured disk, clot or possibly a tumor. After a couple of hours of talking, they took Zoe back.
Around 3pm, T.C. got the call where he thought maybe they found something in the x-ray. Unfortunately it was worse news than that.
I went and met T.C. and we both went to say our very last goodbyes to the best dog in the world. It was extremely hard to know that we had to leave her and she would not be going home with us. We saw the x-rays and it showed nothing. The doctor even did part of the MRI and couldn't find anything wrong with her brain. He said it was really like she just had a heart attack and died instantly. He hasn't seen anything like this in 10 years when a similar thing happened to a malamute he was working with. He said there was something else and figured that cancer had spread in her body. Maybe the tumor on her leg was one spot but not the initial one. Maybe it had already spread to her back leg and she just started to show symptoms of something wrong. There is really no way of telling but it could have gotten to her heart.
We miss Zoe so much already. It really feels like a family member is no longer with us. Right when Jayden and Reid came home today, Jayden asked where Zoe was. We had to tell him she is in heaven. Reid seems to miss her too, calling out "doggie" and "Zoe" (he was just getting the word Zoe down). Luckily they are both very young and won't go through much pain right now.

We were very sorry to hear about Zoe. I know how much you guys loved her. :( It was good of you to write what happened. I'm sure it was hard for you to write, but it was nice to see her cute little puppy pics. She was a very cute puppy.
